Tell us a bit about your current role:

I’m the Global Head of Relationship Management at TRG Screen, and while I’m technically in a sales leadership role, my job is simple: helping clients succeed. Every day, I work with market data managers to tackle challenges like vendor audits, cost optimization and compliance reporting—issues that can bog down even the most experienced teams.

What makes this role so rewarding is that I’ve been in their shoes. During my time at State Street, Fidelity Investments and Brown Brothers Harriman, I managed market data firsthand. I know what it’s like to handle the complexities of administering spend inventory, navigate tough vendor negotiations and wrestle with getting the most value from tight data budgets. That shared experience helps me connect with clients as a trusted partner.

What aspect of your role has the greatest impact on clients and/or the industry?

It all comes down to relationships. Clients don’t just need another vendor – they need someone in their corner they trust and who can help them. They need someone who truly understands their challenges and offers real, actionable solutions, even for problems they don’t yet see. TRG Screen had these kinds of relationships from the beginning, and our clients have helped us as much as we’ve helped them. For many clients, we’ve built relationships by solving problems together, growing up professionally together, and getting to know each other personally. It’s very unique.

What sets TRG Screen apart is our ability to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients. Many market data managers work with monopolistic vendors in relationships that can feel more adversarial than collaborative. These vendors are unavoidable, and navigating these dynamics can be daunting.

That’s where we come in. We’re the partner that helps clients manage those vendor relationships. By helping them get control of their costs, understand usage patterns, simplify negotiations, and reduce friction, we enable clients to shift from a reactive fire-fighting approach to a forward-thinking model. This shift allows them to see opportunities they might not have seen before, drive more strategic value and position their teams as indispensable contributors to their organizations.

What excites you most about the future of market data management?

Beyond the people side of the business, I’m excited about technology advances that make all of it easier. I’ve seen us embrace and apply all manner of emerging technologies over time. And now, tools like generative AI are not just improving efficiency—they’re changing the way our team operates and the solutions we can deliver.

For instance, AI is making strides towards analyzing complex vendor contracts in minutes, providing clients with powerful insights for smarter negotiations. Automation is streamlining invoicing and compliance, reducing manual work and leaving room for more strategic priorities. These advancements enable market data managers to take a proactive, value-driven approach, where they can focus on long-term goals rather than just immediate challenges.

What excites me most is the potential to elevate market data management into a strategic powerhouse within organizations. While there’s still work to be done—especially in encouraging vendors to adopt more client-friendly practices—the possibilities for innovation and impact have never been greater. I also think it’s important to help my clients advance in their careers by managing the market data function more effectively at their companies. I’m excited to continue mentoring the next generation of market data managers as they evolve.

"Start by automating the tasks that drain your team’s time, like processing invoices and managing audits. Once these processes are streamlined and you have the right tools in place, your team can focus on strategic priorities—like working with your business lines to uncover savings and create greater value across the organization. "

What advice would you give a business looking to improve their ability to manage market and reference data usage and spending?

Think big and beyond today’s challenges—build a strong foundation for the future. The key is making the shift from firefighting to forward thinking.

Start by automating the tasks that drain your team’s time, like processing invoices and managing audits. Once these processes are streamlined and you have the right tools in place, your team can focus on strategic priorities—like working with your business lines to uncover savings and create greater value across the organization.

Simplifying vendor relationships and gaining control over your market data costs is a journey, but it’s entirely achievable with the right tools and partners. With the right support, you’re not just solving problems—you’re unlocking opportunities to drive meaningful change.

Trip - meet the expert

What’s one thing people might never guess about you?

My family lived in Venezuela when I was in middle school while my dad was a financial executive, so I’m proficient in Spanish. I was thrown into the language upon arrival, and it’s stuck with me ever since. My native-speaking friends will confirm that I’m not fluent by their standards, but it is great to be able to easily navigate Spanish-speaking cities when I travel. We love Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Barcelona is one of my favorites—its energy, architecture and culture are unmatched. If you haven’t been, put it on your list!

How do you enjoy spending time outside of work?

Living on Martha’s Vineyard is a gift. When I’m not working, you’ll find me golfing, relaxing at the beach with my family or exploring the island’s natural beauty. We’re lucky to have such a special place to call home, but I also love getting away to cities like Boston or New York for a change of pace. There’s something invigorating about exploring new restaurants, catching a show or just soaking in the energy of a big city. It’s the perfect balance to island life.
